It has been such an exciting week at EFPN, we hardly know where to begin. But we’ll give it a go:
1) Judge Joyce Cram, founder of Contra Costa County’s new elder court, has signed on to give the welcome address for the morning conference at Call to Action. Welcome, Judge Cram!
2) California’s Senator, The Honorable Barbara Boxer, has joined San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom to become the two newest members of the Call to Action 2009 Honorary Committee! Last week, we were thrilled to welcome CEO of the California Credit Union League, Bill Cheney and Nevada City District Attorney Clifford Newell to the committee. We could not be more excited to have so many distinguished dignitaries on our Honorary Committee.
3) The Mitford Institute has confirmed that CEUs for social workers will be available for Call to Action 2009! MCLEs for attorneys are pending.
4) The invitations are in the mail!
If you have not yet done so, please consider sponsoring a table or making a co-sponsor contribution for Call to Action 2009! Proceeds from the event support the critical community education and advocacy work we do, and in this tumultuous economy, vulnerable elders are particularly at risk. With your help, we can reach out to more seniors in California and beyond (and those who look out for them) and provide the tools they need to protect themselves from exploitation and abuse!
