We are excited to announce that Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi (D-CA,8), Speaker of the US House of Representatives, is the founding member of our Call to Action 2009 Honorary Committee. In the coming weeks, we will invite other luminaries from California and beyond to serve on this distinguished committee. Call to Action 2009 is quickly shaping up to be the best yet!
Nancy Pelosi was elected to the House in 1987. Since then, she has been a fierce advocate for seniors. In 2002, Pelosi was elected minority leader in the House. And in 2004, she became the first female Speaker of the House of Representatives. For more information, please visit the Speaker’s website at www.house.gov/pelosi/.
Call to Action 2009 will be held on March 26, 2009 at the Carnelian Room in San Francisco. The day-long event includes a morning conference, elegant luncheon and awards ceremony. Registration opens February 14. For more information, please call us at 415.956.5556 or visit www.bewiseonline.org. And, as always, keep your eyes on the blog for the latest news from EFPN.
We are so proud to have the Speaker on our Honorary Committee. Stay tuned for more information.

On November 24, 2008, EFPN launched its end-of-the-year “ASK Campaign.” We are grateful for the year-end support we have received from our partners. In these uncertain economic times, it is more important than ever that EFPN reach out to older Americans as well as those who work with them to help fight elder financial abuse. And our friends and colleagues have stepped up to the plate, including some organizations who gave this year for the first time*.
We still have a long way to go. If you have not yet given, please consider making a donation to EFPN. For more information, please call us at 415.956.5556.
We would especially like to thank Warner & Pank, LLC for seven years of support, and for their generous, in-kind contribution of services for 2009.
